DeAndre Jordan Makes His NBA Free Agent Decision

The NBA world is shaken by several major decisions, and now it’s time to discuss over the Dallas Mavericks. Latest reports confirm that they have landed DeAndre Jordan, adding that he has signed a one-year contract worth $24.1 million.

“DeAndre Jordan and the Dallas Mavericks have verbally agreed on a one-year deal approaching the $24.1 million option with the Clippers for next season that Jordan relinquished Friday, according to league sources,” Marc Stein wrote on the contract.

Jordan decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. If he stayed with the Clippers, they’d give him over $24 million. In other words, Jordan felt pretty confident in his talent, hoping to sign a bigger deal in another team. This actually happened, but nobody thought that he’d end up playing with the Dallas Mavericks.

In 2015, free agent Jordan had the opportunity to sign with any team out there. The Mavericks did their best to sign him in, but Jordan changed his mind and went back to the Clippers. According to sources, he had certain doubts on his mind. Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, J.J. Redick and Paul Pierce visited him in order to make him sign in a rather infamous social media period in the NBA history. Griffin even posted a picture of a chair stuck against the door to keep the Mavericks away from Jordan. What a joke!

It turns out that the Mavericks managed to land him after all. The team was the 18th in the NBA defense last season. Jordan will definitely take them to the top half of the list, and that’s a nice scenario, right?

Things are doing pretty well for the Dallas Mavericks, and Jordan is a nice addition to their team. Let’s see how the game goes after the big deal.
