LeBron James’ Reps Set Up First Free Agent Meeting

LeBron James keep surprising us all, and it seems like the Philadelphia 76ers will have a meeting with his representatives. The meeting will take place in Los Angeles, and it will happen on the first day of 2018 NBA free agency.

The information about the meeting was first confirmed by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. King James won’t attend the meeting.

“A high-level Philadelphia 76ers contingent is meeting with LeBron James’ agent, Rich Paul, on Sunday in Los Angeles, league sources told ESPN. James isn’t expected to attend the meeting, which is the first significant chance for the 76ers to make case a free-agent case to James, league sources said. Ownership and possibly interim president of basketball operations/coach Brett Brown are expected to lead the meeting with James’ representatives, sources said. The Sixers have the ability to sign James to a $35.6 million annual max salary, partnering him potentially with two of the NBA’s best young stars, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons,” Wojnarowski said.

A couple of NBA execs believe that LeBron will join the Sixers for the summer, and Ken Berger shares the same opinion.

“I bet he gives Philly a real look. He’s smart. That one’s got its challenges, but L.A. has its challenges too. I don’t think the question with Philly is, ‘Are those guys going to be good enough?’ It’s more questions about health. If Ben had played 80 this year and last year, and Joel had played 80 this year and last year, I don’t think it would be a very hard decision for LeBron. But it’s a factor, and you have to think about it,” one of the execs said.

So, we will just wait for LeBron’s final decision, and see how it turns for the Sixers. This is a major twist in the story, and fans didn’t even think of such scenario.
