Here’s What Patriots Plan After Edelman’s Suspension

Julian Edelman’s PED suspension appeal was denied, and the wide receiver will sit on the bench for the first quarter of the season. The NFL officially ruled that Edelman’s suspension will stand. Although he tried to appeal the decision, and eventually lift the suspension, it didn’t work. Now the Patriots will have to think of something else. The team will begin the season without one of their brightest stars. It seems like they don’t have a reason to be concerned. Here’s why…

1. Braxton Berrios
The wide receiver was picked in the sixth round of the April draft. He’s a wonderful touchdown machine, and managed to hale in nine scores. The pairing with unspectacular quarterbacks didn’t stop him. Berrios is talented from the slot and on the outside. He is a clear sign that Bill Belichick can turn undersized guys into stars.

2. Slow start last season
New England started the last season 2-2 in their first games, and lost to the Chiefs and Panthers. Things didn’t go down the hill, and Brady and Belichick are still as strong as they used to be. The Patriots finished their year 1303, and eventually won the AFC. Even without Edelman, they can still have another 2-2 start. Oh yes, the Pats will definitely bounce back from the start in the exact time.

3. Stacked running back committee
Should we say anything about James White, Jeremy Hill, Rex Burkhead, Mike Gillislee, and Sony Michel? White is another receiver for the team, and Burkhead can get the best of short yardage situations. Hill and Gillislee provide the needed depth. Belichick sure knows how to lead running back committees, and place every player in the right position. Things will take the same route this year, and that’s a sure bet.
Keep up the good job, Pats!
