ESPY Award For NFL Player Of The Year Winner Announced

The ESPY Awards were quite a thing these days. Tom Brady did an amazing job, and although the event was more like a way to amuse everybody, there were some three-degree burns. Oh, yes, we’re referring to host Danica Patrick.

Tom Brady won the ESPY for NFL Player of the Year. The New England Patriots quarterback earned the third award in his career for the 2017 season. He threw 4,557 yards and 32 touchdowns as the Patriots did 13-3 in the regular season.

He was also in the row for Male Athlete of the Year, but Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin won it. He was the first NHL player to win this award.

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles had the ESPY Award for Best Championship Performance after taking Philadelphia to a Super Bowl LII win over New England. Philladelphia’s Eagle Special didn’t win the Best Play award and lost out to Arike Ogunbowale’s buzzer beater to get the NCAA Women’s title for Notre Dame.

Let’s go back to Danica. She made a few… interesting jokes? Her main focus was set on top athlete names, and yes, she also mentioned LeBron. The NBA was her favorite.

“So many big NBA moves this off-season. Kawhi Leonard went to the Raptors, Dwight Howard went to the Wizards and Ben Simmons went to the Kardashians,” she said. “But, who are we kidding. The biggest off season pick-up was LeBron James. I mean, who doesn’t love LeBron James? He’s one of the greatest basketball players of all time,” Danica added. Wow.

“Hey, it’s OK. When LeBron hosted, he made fun of me too. I’d say we’re even. J.R. Smith would say we’re up by one,” she tried to excuse herself. In a bad way of course.

So, yes, let’s focus on Brady’s award. May this bring him luck in this season’s game.
