Watch: Eric Mangini Reveals What Makes Bill Belichick ‘Different Than Other Coaches’

One thing is for sure – Bill Belichick is a coaching mastermind. The longtime head coach has reached unprecedented success during his nearly two decades with the New England Patriots, including five Super Bowl championships.

Of course, there are a number of other elite coaches in the NFL history, but one could make the argument that Belichick is the best to ever do it.

That brings up a question: What makes Belichick so damn good?

During Tuesday’s edition of “Undisputed” on FOX Sports 1, Eric Mangini, who was on Belichick’s staff for five seasons in New England, tried to answer that question and explain what makes his former boss “different than other coaches.”

WATCH:

“The thing that always impressed me was the way that he worked,” said Mangini.“And he knew everything that was going on, in offense, in defense, on special team, in free agency, in the draft, with the medical department… he had a grip and an understanding and a big picture, a vision, that most coaches don’t have.”

He also spoke about the relationship between Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

“I don’t believe Bill would be what Bill is without Tom Brady,” Mangini pointed out, adding, “I don’t think Tom Brady is Tom Brady without Bill Belichick.”

Belichick’s sharp attention to detail always gives the Patriots an immediate upper hand in basically every game they play. And with New England poised for another strong season in the upcoming campaign, Belichick will have a great opportunity to achieve even greater success.
