Belichick Ultimately Gives Tom Brady a Gift for His Birthday, Starts a Tradition

Tom Brady celebrated his 41st birthday and the rest of Patriots Nation made sure to let him know how valuable he is to them by planning Friday’s training camp session and including birthday well wishes and notes for the five time Super Bowl champion. Fans in attendance were also happy to join the celebration, singing Happy Birthday while holding up signs.

A few days ago, when asked about any plans regarding Brady’s birthday, Bill Belichick said, “I still have a couple days to work that . . . we’ll come up with something.”

During his press conference on Friday, Belichick also responded to a question on whether the team had planned any festivities, saying: “Yeah, we’ll have a couple of things here.”

One of those things included a gift from Belichick that seems to have become a yearly tradition for the quarterback.

While it may be difficult to find a gift for someone who already has everything that you could possibly imagine, it seems like Bill Belichick has pegged his now annual gift for his quarterback. Brady essentially got the day off from practice to really enjoy his birthday.

Not a bad gesture for a head coach, but yet, unsurprising, given the fact all the years they’ve spent together. The quarterback was just 22-years old when he first stepped on the Patriots practice field for the first time after being drafted in 2000. The fact that he has spent nearly half of his life in a Patriots uniform and keeping the franchise in Super Bowl contention throughout that time is admirable.

Belichick also had some praises for Brady on his birthday.

“He’s had a tremendous career,” he said at his Friday morning press conference. “He’s had a spectacular career. He still plays at a tremendous level.”

We hope the G.O.A.T. will continue to play spectacularly and be a role model for young people all over the country.
