3 Reasons Signing Eric Decker Was a Good Move

The New England Patriots are ready for their first game of the preseason, and fans are super excited to see it. But, they’re even more excited about the signing of Eric Decker.

The Patriots aim towards building a strong roster, and Eric Decker was sure a nice addition. Accepting new players always comes with a risk, but everything points to the fact that New England made the right move at the right time.

Decker had a quiet season with the run-first Tennessee Titans, and entered free agency. Again. The offseason was full of surprises in the world of football, and many players joined different teams.

Decker had 54 receptions, 563 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown during his game with the Titans. He’s an excellent player, and the Patriots signed him for a few good reasons.

Although Decker’s last season was tough, he had a bunch of good games in his career. The Patriots needed a hand at wide receiver, and that’s what makes Decker fit for the team’s organization. He’s pretty comfortable in the offense which is why Pats made a good decision by signing him

Decker was present while Josh McDaniels took the leading coach position n Denver. Yes, the offense isn’t pretty much the same, but he will sure pick it up quickly. Decker will provide quarterback Tom Brady a reliable target at the wide receiver spot. That’s exactly what the Patriots need at the moment, and Decker could sure be a big weapon at wide receiver for the team.

One-year deals are usually cheap, and the Patriots will get a lot of value if he manages to find his shape from when he played with the New York Jets not so long ago.

Decker is getting ready for his first season with the Patriots, and it will be nice to watch him on the field.
