Patriots Have Alarming Issue At Wide Receiver

New England is ready for the new season, but the team will face a serious wide receiver issue at the end of it.

Training camp is over, and Pats already went through the preseason opener. 2018 will be full of excitement, and fresh additions are here to spice up the game. But, what about the wide receiver?

Malcolm Mitchell is out of the team for good due to his injuries and knee ailment. He had a promising career in New

England, but his knee issue kept him away from the field last season. His condition got worse during the offseason workout program, and he even had a procedure on his knee.

So, Mitchell left, meaning the Patriots are dealing with a huge concern regarding the receiving unit. If Mitchell was healthy enough for the seasons to follow, he would definitely be considered a long-term solution.

Chris Hogan, Eric Decker, Phillip Dorsett, Cordarrelle Patterson and Kenny Britt were part of the 53-man roster, but they will become free agents at the end of the season. Julian Edelman is having his ACL issue, and even said that he doesn’t have his football legs under him.

Chris Hogan hopes to get a “gigantic bag” of money. At least that’s what his agents hopes for. The same applies to Phillip Dorsett, Cordarrelle Patterson and Kenny Britt. But, the Pats aren’t really a team to open up the wallets for receivers. They’re used to moving on with “a new crop.”

This doesn’t change the fact that the 41-year-old Tom Brady needs more help. He may be awesome at the moment, but he will sure need a hand to produce at high levels.

Rob Gronkowski could help here, but his contract thing is still open. Could he retire?

Head coach Bill Belichick sure has a plan in his head, and we’ll just wait and see his next move.
