Possible Patriots Wide Receiver Trade Targets

The New England Patriots lost to the Carolina Panthers in the third preseason game. Everyone noticed the weak spots of the team, and head coach Bill Belichick better work on upgrading the wide receiver depth.

Chris Hogan is sort of reliable, and Phillip Dorsett had his bright moments in the third preseason game. Cordarrelle Patterson did a good job, too. If you think again, this is all they have. The Patriots have to deepen their wide receiver spot, and they better find themselves another receiver. Let’s go through the possible wide receiver trade targets.

Golden Tate may be everything the Patriots need at the moment. Tate joined the Lions in 2016, and recorded 372 receptions for 4,224 yards and 19 touchdowns. We can say he’s a definition of reliable, as he caught between 90 and 99 passes each year with the team.

If you think better, the Lions may release Tate for some good cash. Tate is in the final year of his deal, and Detriot already has a solid wide receiving core.

DeVante Parker from the Miami Dolphins is also an option. The team is not in its best place at the moment. The Dolphins had a poor season, and they are not into a rebuilding mode. They’re not even trying to compete this year. There are also speculations of the possible trade of DeVante Parker. He had 129 receptions for 1,908 yards and eight touchdowns.

Demaryuis Thomas may be traded, too. New England is the right destination for Thomas, according to experts. Thomas averaged 100.5 receptions per season for 1,447 yards from 2012 to 2015. Let’s not forget that Denver has poor quarterback play.

Brandon LaFell and Dez Bryant are interesting free options. Bryant is a better player, but LaFell is a better fit for the Patriots at this moment.
