James White Reacts To Being Named Captain With Patriots

James White is one of the greatest players in the New England Patriots despite the fact that he’s entering his fifth season in the National Football League. He was also named captain.

White now has the title, and this week he was named one of the Patriots’ six captains for the season. This was the first time that White is given the honor, and was actually humbled by the respect he was given from all the Patriots. Being a captain is a great honor.

“It’s definitely an honor to be elected by my teammates and to be a captain of the team. For me, it’s just try to lead by example, try to do things the right way, and at the same time, just go out there and perform every weekend and give the team the best I have,” White said.

Head coach Bill Belichick was also amazed by his game.

“He’s done a great job for us both on and off the field. He’s one of our most dependable players. Everybody has a lot of confidence in him because he’s earned it. He’s earned that confidence and trust from his teammates and his coaches by doing it on a consistent basis. There’s no real magic to that. It’s just going out there and being consistent and dependable. He’s done a great job of it,” Belichick said.

The head coach knows that White used every opportunity he was given. “It depends on what the player is asked to do, where he’s coming from. James carried the ball a lot at Wisconsin. He was involved some in the passing game. His development in the passing game has grown as he’s had more experience and more opportunities in it here. I think when you look at it in that context, that’s the explanation. Not that he couldn’t do it, he just has more experience and more opportunity to do it,” Belichick said.

Let’s hope that White will excuse the honor he was given.
Good luck, White!
