LeBron James Issued Bold Demand to Pat Riley Before Los Angeles Lakers Move

LeBron James made a huge demand to Pat Riley before signing his four-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Sources reveal that King James demanded Pat Riley take over as Miami Heat coach before his move to Los Angeles.

The king of basketball spent some nice time with the Miami Heat. He was pretty successful in his game with the team in the period between 2010 and 2014. The best part came when LeBron helped the Heat to win the NBA Championship in 2012 and 2013.

LeBron will be the subject of many revelations once author Iam Thomsen releases his new book The Soul of Basketball: The Epic Showdown between LeBron, Kobe, Doc and Dirk that saved the NBA.

The book also features former Miami Heat president Pat Riley. And Riley now says that King James once demanded he take over top coaching duties from Eric Spoelstra.

“I asked how things were progressing. They just said, ‘We’re not feeling it, or something like that.’ We talked about the typical things we have to do, have patience, and all that stuff. And I remember LeBron looking at me and he said, ‘Don’t you ever get the itch?’ And I said, ‘The itch for what?’ He said, ‘The itch to coach again.’ I said, ‘No, I don’t have the itch.’ He didn’t ask any more questions and I didn’t offer any more answers but I know what it meant and I always go back and wonder what he was thinking at that time. He walked out scratching at his leg like it was itching,” Riley recalls in the book.

LeBron is part of a new team now, and he will have his debut with the Lakers this autumn. His former teammate Larry Nance Jr. believes that LeBron is able to take the Lakers to the finals.
