Watch: Trey Flowers Knocked Out In Week 2 Showdown

Trey Flowers went down.

The New England Patriots challenged the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the ‘first victims’ are already here. In the opening minutes of the first quarter of the game, Trey Flowers crushed in on quarterback Blake Botles. His teammate Keionta Davis hit him in the head with his knee, and knocked him down.

Flowers was lying on the field for a few minutes, and head coach Bill Belichick went straight there to check up on his player. The situation wasn’t good, but Flowers managed to get up and walk to the sideline. The pass rusher went with the concussion spotter to the Patriots locker room. New England came out and revealed that Trey Flowers is evaluated for a concussion.

The New England Patriots drafted Flowers in the fourth round of the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Arkansas. The pass rusher redshirted his entire rookie season, but grew up into one of the most important pass rushers in New England.

Last season, the pass rusher totaled 6.5 sacks, 28 quarterback hits and 24 pressures. He led the Patriots in sacks in 2016 and 2017, while showing he can also show up in the clutch as evidence of those two and a half sacks in Super Bowl LI against the Falcons.

Flowers is rather important for the Patriots’ defense, and if his condition gets worse, the team will have to come out with an alternative. The pass rusher is too valuable for the defense, but we do believe that the head coach has a backup plan. Bill Belichick would never let things slip down his hands, and he won’t lose this Super Bowl. That’s what rumors say.

Let’s hope that Flowers gets better. The Patriots should be really careful at this point, as they have lost many valuable players due to injuries.
