Bill Belichick Makes Blunt Statement Of Patriots In Week 2

The New England Patriots weren’t really successful in Week 2, and head coach Bill Belichick isn’t happy about it.

Everyone failed, including the offense, defense and special teams unit. The 31-20 loss was huge, and Jacksonville Jaguars did win this time. Belichick assessed his team’s game in this so-called AFC Championship rematch. Week 2 was awful for the Pats.

“Alright, well, not really too much to say after that one. We just obviously didn’t do anything well enough or close to well enough to be able to take a win today. So, just not a good enough performance in many ways and we just all have to do a better job. Let’s get back to work here and get ready for Detroit. It’s disappointing to have the kind of day that we had today, but that’s what it was, so we’ll live with it, own it and move on,” the head coach said after the loss.

Some even compared this loss to the team’s failure in Week 4 of the 2014 season. But, Belichick wasn’t in the mood of comparing defeats. “I don’t know, it was a different time. We just didn’t do a good job today. That’s all. It just wasn’t good enough,” he said.

The Patriots struggled during the game. Blake Bortles threw for 377 yards and four touchdowns. When asked about the mistakes that led to the lack of pass rush by his guys, Belichick said, “Like I said, we didn’t do a good enough job in any area. There’s a long list: Playing, coaching, every part of the game. It just wasn’t good enough.” It wasn’t good at all.

Belichick didn’t provide long answers, and said that it was their decision to pull out some moves. Well, the Patriots better get ready for the next game, because this was bad.
