Kawhi Reveals Reason Why He Won’t Play With The Lakers

KawhiThe Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss and president of basketball operations Magic Johnson did a really good job this summer. They managed to land the NBA star LeBron James, and it is sure a nice boost to their active roster. LeBron joined the Lakers earlier this summer, and people are already talking about the next star to make the same move. Is Kawhi the next to go?

Probably not. The initial rumors suggested that the Lakers are trying to land Kawhi Leonard, and we all know that he isn’t really happy with his team, the San Antonio Spurs. Leonard demanded a trade, and some said he was trying to move to the Lakers. However, the player was traded to the Toronto Raptors.

Leonard will become free agent next summer, and the Lakers aren’t rushing to sign him. Although the deal wasn’t sealed, many thought that it’s already done. This may come as a surprise to you, but it’s time to inform you that the latest reports tell a different story.

According to this, Leonard doesn’t want to play with the Los Angeles Lakers, because he isn’t interested in playing in LeBron’s shadow. We understand that.

LeBron will always be in the main focus, and this has nothing to do with Kawhi or his game. Every player who plays on the same team with LeBron will be thrown in his shadow because he’s King James. This sums up the whole story. He will probably go with the Los Angeles Clippers or Toronto Raptors.

The Lakers still have a lot of options. Several top players will become free agents next year, including Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson. Let’s be honest, Thompson is a better option than Leonard.

Buss and Magic Johnson will have to do a few calculations, and find what works best for the team.
