Ben Roethlisberger Comments On Josh Gordon Trade

The New England Patriots added Josh Gordon to the active roster, and triggered an avalanche of reactions. The team needed another receiving target in order to cope with the lack of players. Kenny Britt, Jordan Matthews and Malcolm Mitchell are released due to injuries, and Julian Edelman is suspended. So, the team needed a fresher start, but nobody thought that they’d sign the troubled wideout. What does Ben Roethlisberger think about the Gordon trade?

Ben Roethlisberger is a rival of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. On his radio show on 93.7 The Fan, Roethlisberger said he was “kind of surprised, but I guess if there’s a place for him to go, then it’s with Belichick and Brady.”

Roethlisberger believes that New England has an infrastructure that supports questionable personalities, and reiterated that by saying that “they take chances on people knowing that what they have up there is special, whether it’s with discipline or mindset or whatever.”

But, the Steelers have a similar experience. In 2015, the team took a chance on Michael Vick. It was more than clear that he would never be a starter. The Patriots tend to take high risks but not too often, and sometimes it pays off. Remember what happened with the deal of Randy Moss? However, they do fail sometimes. The signing of Chad Johnson didn’t work for the team in 2011. But, the Patriots never bet on a 100 percent success rate. They can always release a troubled player, and it makes things easier for the organization.

The Patriots gave up on a fifth-round pick for Gordon, meaning they didn’t lose too much with this trade deal. The good thing is that Gordon has a lot to offer, and New England will take the risk. They’re all about winning, and Gordon likes to win, too. Game on, Pats!
