Attorney Hints At Colin Kaepernick To The Patriots

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick started the whole protest thing, and because of him, numerous NFL players took a knee during the performance of the Star Spangled Banner last year. And now his attorney Mark Geragos says that two teams are interested in him.

Geragos suggested that Colin Kaepernick has attracted the attention of the Patriots and Raiders. Is this even possible?

Kaepernick was the first football player to take a knee during the National Anthem. This was his way of silent protesting against police brutality against minorities. Kaepernick also protested several social issues. Other teams supported his initiative, and each game was opened with a protest. Some of the players even raised a fist.

The national anthem protests triggered an avalanche of reactions and hot debates, and even the President of the United States got involved. He accused the league for not solving the problem on time, and condemned players who disrespected the anthem.

Denver Broncos general manager John Elway said that he may not consider adding Kaepernick after the team didn’t succeed to bring in the quarterback as part of a trade deal with the 49ers in 2016. His statements had nothing on Kaepernick’s claim that he was “blackballed” once he entered free agency in 2017.

“You know what, and I said this a while ago: Colin had his chance to be here. We offered him a contract. He didn’t take it. As I said in my deposition … he’s had his chance to be here. He passed it,” he said.

Kaepernick’s protest was transformed into a controversial tradition, and the NFL even announced a new league rule according to which players are obliged to stay for the national anthem. Players were also allowed to stay in the locker room. In this way their teams won’t be fined by the NFL for disrespecting the anthem and flag.
