Tom Brady Reveals Josh Gordon’s Progress In Practice

The New England Patriots were looking for a talented wide receiver, and it seems like Josh Gordon was fit for the role. The team acquired Gordon via a trade deal with the Cleveland Browns, and the wide receiver even played in Wednesday’s practice.

The Patriots locker room said pretty much everything about the team’s wide receiver unit. They’ve been releasing and signing players all the time, and the locker to the right of Brady’s was always empty. This time Josh Gordon settled in. Head coach Bill Belichick decided to put Gordon next to Brady, and he did it on purpose. Gordon already played with his new teammates in practice.

“Coach decides a lot of those things, so you just kind of show up and those things happen,” Brady said of the locker position.

The quarterback had three practices with Gordon, and the wide receiver was limited due to a hamstring injury. But, it seems like Gordon left a food first impression.

″[He’s] really been eager to get in there and learn everything we’re doing. You know, just try to acclimate himself to what the program is,” the quarterback said.

We don’t really know is he worked with Gordon. The Patriots are careful with new receivers, and the Brady-Gordon connection is in its early stage. “I think we’re working at it. Look, he’s been here for a few days. We’re working at it every day. Every day you try to make improvements. We’re out there, everyone who is out there is working hard, trying to practice, doing what they need to do understand the playbook, to understand route, to understand how we do things. We’re just trying to work at it,” Brady said.

This is good news for Gordon. It’s good to know that your new team has accepted you. Even Bill Belichick made a comment on the Gordon trade.
