Anthony Davis Signs With LeBron James’ Agent, To Meet With Pelicans Soon

Contracts everywhere. New Orleans Pelicans All-Star Anthony Davis has officially signed with agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports after inking paperwork this weekend.

Anthony Davis has high hopes for the next period, and do believes that he will be able to bring the Pelicans’ game to a higher level this season. The whole agent switch thing was conducted in an attempt to improve his overall performance.

“My focus is to win, to come in every day and do all I can go help this organization. While establishing myself as the best player on the floor every night,” Davis told ESPN.

Klutch Sports made the official announcement Sunday, and LeBron James welcomed the All-Star. LeBron is Paul’s highest-profile client.

In the world of basketball, switching agents is almost always associated with changes of teams. Many believe that the star player is trying to bring huge changes into his professional career. Agent Paul represents more than 20 NBA players. He said that his newest client hasn’t made any plans of this nature, and he’s eager for the next meeting with Pelicans officials.

Last year, John Wall filled headlines, as the agent negotiated a $207 million extension for him to keep playing with the Washington Wizards.

Davis will probably sign a five-year contract extension worth $235 million next summer. The All-Star averaged 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. There’s also a possibility that he becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2020.

“It’s a pleasure and honor to represent a player like AD. He’s a transcendent talent and continues to establish himself as one of the dominant players in the game,” Paul said.

Fans are already making guesses on his next move. Davis’ new agent will sure bring him a fancy contract. That’s what every great agent does, and Paul is one of the greatest on this planet.
