Watch: Ja’Whaun Bentley Picks Off Matthew Stafford

The New England Patriots challenge the Detroit Lions in Week 3, and it’s one of the games you can’t really predict. The first half was sort of underwhelming for the Patriots’ defensive unit, but the players came out in the second half and had a turnover. Matthew Stafford drops back and threw it for Luke Walson. However, linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley jumped in front of Wilson, and came up with the interception.

Ja’Whaun Bentley has five tackles and this pick. He was also used as the defensive play caller for Brian Flores’ unit.
The New England Patriots drafted Bentley in the fifth-round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He found a way to come in and provide a high-level performance. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was aware of the fact that Bentley is wise beyond his age. He was also a high achiever for the Boilermakers, so Belichick wasn’t really surprised by his great success with the Patriots.

Well, I think that’s the player. I think you can go back to DeMatha High School and see that, Purdue – I mean, he started as a freshman at Purdue. This kid’s been productive at every program he’s been in almost as soon as he’s been in the program. I mean, I don’t see it as a big shock,” Belichick said earlier this month.

During his time at Purdue, Bentley tallied 97 total tackles in 12 games with 11.5 coming for a loss. He forced two fumbles and recorded one interception, while playing as three time captain.

The Patriots are shaking up the game, and we can’t really predict the final score. Both teams struggle for a score, and it seems like they have a few soft spots. Will the Patriots add another boost to their game? There’s so little until the end, and the guys are trying really hard.
