Luke Walton Cleared Up Why Lakers Recruited LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers landed LeBron James earlier this summer. It was a surprise for everyone in the world of basketball, including LeBron’s former teammates. Nobody really knew that he will opt out of the final year of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers and become a Laker. The front office had a pretty good reason to recruit King James, and head coach Luke Walton said it all.

Walton just wanted LeBron to be the player to grab the ball when the game is on point. LeBron will actually be taking the do-or-die shots. And, yes, the Lakers did a really good job, because LeBron is pretty good at these. The head coach already knows that Lebron is often the go-to guy in such situations.

The head coach talked to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk after the team’s second day of practice. “When you get to the end of a game, that is what max players make max money for, that is what they do. I can comfortably say that LeBron will be our first option at the end of ballgames if it’s close,” Walton said of the NBA star.

Well, we aw this coming. Everybody knows how good LeBron is, and we knew that the Lakers would want him to do the risky job. LeBron will play with young players and a bunch of veterans, including Michael Beasley, JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo and Lance Stephenson.

The NBA preseason is right behind the corner, and the Lakers will play six preseason games. The team will challenge the Golden State Warriors in the final two games of the preseason. This will be a test for the team, and we’ll all get to see if the Lakers can be considered contenders this season. It’s like a dream come true for every Laker in the nation.

Game on, guys, it’s time to win a few games!
