Bill Belichick Finally Broke His Silence On Josh Gordon Trade In Typical Belichick Fashion

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick didn’t make any comments on the Josh Gordon trade with the Cleveland Browns. Fans were amazed with his ability to hide either the excitement or the disappointment of the new addition. Both teams announced the trade deal Monday, and it was already official on Tuesday.

Reporters used every opportunity to ask him about the troubled player, but Bill Belichick was just shutting them down.

“You can ask, but I can’t — we’ll talk about it when it’s done if it’s done when it’s done. There are terms that have to be met before the trade is finalized. And when those are completed, then we’ll have a completed trade. Until they’re completed, then I’m not going to get into it,” Belichick said of the trade.

This time the head coach offered a brief scouting report on the wide receiver during his weekly appearance on “Patriots All-Access.”

“I think everybody feels like this is a talented player. We’ll see how it goes,” he said.

The Patriots are sending a fifth-round draft pick to Cleveland this week in exchange for the wide receiver and a seventh-round pick. Gordon was present at the Patriots practice on Wednesday, and he will also play on Sunday.

Gordon will join Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson in the receiving unit. He played in just 11 games since 2014, and that’s the only detail that worried fans. However, nobody forgot the fact that Gordon was one of the most brilliant receivers in 2013. He had 87 catches, 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns.

The wide receiver had his five minutes of fame before being hit with a suspension for substance abuse. The rest is history.
The Browns decided to remove him from the roster after he suffered a hamstring injury during his promotional photo shoot. He didn’t play in Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints, but will definitely play this Sunday.
