Bill Belichick Reveals How Originally Wanted To Name His Puppy

Getting a new puppy is always a good idea, especially if you love dogs. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick loves his new dog, and talked about it in one of his recent interviews.

Belichick talked to CNBC’s Suzy Welch who visited the coach and his longtime girlfriend Linda Holliday in their Sconset home on Nantucket. The head coach opened up about his new puppy, and expressed his great love for dogs.
“Yeah, I love dogs – all dogs. Most all dogs love me,” he said.

He and Holliday have an Alaskan Klee Kai named Nike. The puppe arrived in their home five months ago. Nike was born on Jan. 20, and was part of a litter of four cute puppies. The dog’s breeder, Emily Hua of Team Klee Kai said that the dog “was a bit more rambunctious” when compared to its siblings, adding that it was also “tender and sweet.”

If you ask Belichick, he will say that Nike is a fun dog who plays all the time. Nike is also “pretty good with his hands.”

The coach wasn’t really thrilled about the new puppy, but he fall in love the same day they got it, as Holliday confirms.

Nike follows the couple everywhere they go. We also saw him in Boston. Belichick brought it at Boston University’s Nickerson Field, and someone took a picture of him making his way out from a BU-Holy Cross women’s lacrosse game. The dog was wearing a gray cut-off hoodie.

“That was my fault. He was a puppy, and it was cold that night, and he’s shivering. All of us have on our big winter coats in the middle of April, so I [put a little hoodie on him]. Then Bill is taking him up the stairs after the lacrosse game is over, and I guess someone snapped a picture. I didn’t even think, you know, the man with the hoodie carrying the dog with the hoodie,” Holliday said.

This came as a surprise, right?
