LeBron James Makes Another ‘Promise’ at Akron Public School

LeBron James opened his I Promise School in his hometown Akron, Ohio. The public school will be the second home of at-risk youth in the community. LeBron may be across the country at the moment, but he always has enough time to jump back to his hometown.

The king of basketball filed documents to coin the new mantras at the public school – “Habits of Promise” and I “Promise Circles.” We don’t have much info on LeBron’s ways of implementing the positive message. However, they’re both listed as services for “Educating at elementary and middle schools,” mostly in areas of “vocational instruction, mentoring, tutoring, classes, seminars and workshops for individuals with varying learning styles using advanced learning technologies and teaching methods.”

LeBron also mentioned that the schools would have support circles for the students to keep them focused. There’s a huge possibility that the name for the practice will become “I Promise Circles.”

King James opened the $8 million school in Akron in July. About 240 third- and fourth-graders will attend the school. The students will get free education, extracurricular activities, free meals, bicycles, vision testing, and college tuition.

”As a kid from Akron Ohio myself I remember walking these same streets I remember walking North Street… riding my bike throughout the rest of the city,” LeBron said at the opening of the school. That’s why he decided to open the school there. He knows that those kids will need his help, and LeBron tried to do something for them.

Providing education for at-risk kids is such a kind act. May this me an example for everyone who can help. There are so many starving kids who don’t have anything to eat or even homes. Someone needs to stand for them, and help them live their best life. Those kids deserve that and much more.
