LeBron Reveals Why He Chose The Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James left Cleveland twice in his professional career. The first time he had an interview in real time, and gave his reasons to joint he Miami Heat. He rejoined the Cleveland Cavaliers, and wrote a letter to explain his decision to go back to his Cavaliers. However, he didn’t write a letter or do a television special to announce his deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

King James had just a press release. He let Klutch Sports tell the world about his decision to sign a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, and that’s it. No explanation, no reasons, no nothing.

Fans have waited for the king of basketball to explain his move using his own words. The Lakers media day arrived on Monday, and LeBron talked to reporters wearing a Lakers uniform for the first time in front of reporters. He explained his reasons to the world. It has nothing to do with his business or his production. It was just basketball and his family.

“My decision was based solely on my family and the Lakers. I’m a basketball player. I play ball, that’s what I do. When I do it at the level I do, everything else will take care of itself. As far as my business, those things have been taking care of themselves way before I even came out here to be part of the Lakers franchise,” he said.

This makes a point. LeBron is one of the most prolific endorser in the league despite his professional success. The king of basketball needed a larger court, and Los Angeles is definitely big. He’s not going after partners. They come to him, talk, and seal the deal. That’s all. Los Angeles only brought him closer to those guys.

The big city will also give his boys enough opportunities to grow big in the world of basketball.
