Report: Lakers Reveal Starting Lineup For Preseason Opener vs. Nuggets

The Los Angeles Lakers have finally revealed their starting lineup for the preseason opening game against the Denver Nuggets.

“Lakers starting lineup to open the preseason: LeBron, Rondo, KCP, Ingram, McGee,” tweeted Dave McMenamin.

Lonzo Ball is still recovering from his knee injury. The Lakers head coach Luke Walton is turning into Rajon Rondo at point guard. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will be the Lakers’ designated shooter. The 6-foot-5 sharpshooter was also known as the team’s primary defender.

Should we really discuss the position of LeBron James in the starting lineup? Of course not. King James has built name for himself, and it was more than clear that the Lakers would add him to the starting lineup. It will definitely be interesting to see how the team plays out its defensive schemes with LeBron and Brandon Ingram set at the forward positions. Ingram can guard stretch power forwards, and LeBron will probably be assigned to heavier forwards.

The Lakers fans will witness a lot of switching on defense unit.

Switching defense means cutting off the pick-and-roll offense and passing lanes, and fans are actually underestimating how shot blockers like JaVale McGee give a brilliant back line of defense.

The Lakeshow will offer a lot more than their starting lineup. These players will have the task to set the tone of the game, and fans are already hoping to see the team’s version of the “Death Lineup” that would offer more of Ball and Kyle Kuzma at the most important points of the game.

The Lakers have the chance to get to the NBA Finals now that LeBron James is on the team. The organization has struggled to score in the last few seasons, and they will definitely win more games this season. Everybody is looking forward to the regular season. The courts will be burning!
