Report: New Rookie Of The Year Candidate Emerges

Who will win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award?

If you check the projections from BetOnline.ag, you’d see that Baker Mayfield is an absolute favorite. He’s at +150. Sam Darnold of the New York Jets is taking the second spot at +200. Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants is +250. These are the three favorites to get the award. Who’s your favorite rookie?

First, let’s go through the rest of the list:

Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay 10/1
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen 18/1
New England Patriots running back Sony Michel 20/1
Denver Broncos running back Royce Freeman 25/1
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen 33/1
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley 33/1
Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson 33/1
Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton 40/1
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb 50/1
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson 50/1

Browns rookie cornerback Denzel Ward is also a favorite for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He has 17 tackles, three pass deflections, two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He forced a major turnover in the team’s win over the New York Yets.

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor had a concussion, and Mayfield boosted the offense.

“It was as good as I thought live. He made some tremendous throws. Obviously, he was able to move the team. Played with some rhythm. Got the ball into the playmakers hands and gave them chances to make plays. There are some things that he has to clean up obviously. We can’t have the ball out on the ground. There are some progression things that we will work through. Overall for his first game out under the lights in that environment in that situation, he handled all of that extremely well and played well,” head coach Hue Jackson said of Mayfield’s performance.

Good luck, Baker Mayfield!
