Colts Admit Struggles Preparing For Julian Edelman And Gordon

The New England Patriots will challenge the Indianapolis Colts for the Thursday Night Football contest, and their opponents are already struggling with the idea of confronting Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon.

Yes, Julian Edelman is coming back on the field, and he’s ready to help his team beat up the Colts. The addition of Josh Gordon is a power-booster, and the Patriots already broke their bad tradition. They’re about to win this game.
Colts head coach Frank Reich noted how difficult it was prepare for players like Edelman and Gordon.

“Yeah, I mean, he’s a great player and there’s certain guys that just have these kind of unique route-running skills that – it’s hard to get that in a look team. It’s hard to say, ‘Hey, you go in there and you play Edelman and you run a route like he runs it.’ That’s hard to mimic. He’s certainly had a great career and has unique abilities and provides playmaking, especially I see it on third down, just having that knack for getting open,” Reich said.

When it comes to Gordon, we can freely say that he’s a game-changer. “Yeah, I mean honestly he has an elite physical skillset. I mean, this guy’s explosive, he’s got length, he’s got all the characteristics, all the physical attributes that you want in a number one receiver. That’ll certainly be a challenge,” Reich said of Gordon.

In his Patriots debut, Gordon caught both of his targets for 32 yards and confirmed his ability as a blocker. He helped James White to go untouched on his 22-yard touchdown in Week 4.

“Josh has worked hard, he’s a smart kid and he’s got quite a bit of experience. He’s, obviously, played in a lot of different systems with different coordinators and so forth. So, I think one way or the other, he’s probably experienced things that we’re doing in one of those systems that he’s been involved in. So, he’s been able to pick things up quickly and has experience doing different things, so it was good to get him out there. We’ll just see how it goes, take it week-to-week here,” Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said of Gordon.
