LeBron James Makes Bombshell Move About Colin Kaepernick

The anthem protests were quite a problem last year, and the National Football League faced numerous problems. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was the first to take a knee during the performance of the National Anthem.

This triggered an avalanche of negative reactions, and President Donald Trump was the first to condemn the protests. However, some athletes supported Kaepernick, including LeBron James and Serena Williams.
Kaepernick was kicked out of the league as no team would sign him.

Although many players followed his example, nobody wanted an additional problem scandal. Moreover, nobody wanted to be a teammate with the guy who lost his job.
Kaepernick was trying to raise the awareness on social justice and police brutality. He protested the anthem, and players followed him.

Celebrities supported Kaepernick from the very beginning of the protest thing. Although he was removed from the field, Nike decided to make him the 30th face of their Just Do It campaign. This deal was supported by numerous athletes, and LeBron had his thumbs up.

LeBron has a life-long deal with Nike. He praised Nike’s decision to make a deal with the former quarterback, and never changed his mind.

Before his last game, LeBron wore a Nike shirt with Kaepernick’s name on its back. “I wore a Kaepernick shirt tonight, one because it’s Nike and I’m a Nike guy. And then, two, I support Kap. I’ve always supported Kap and what he stands for and what he believes in,” LeBron said when asked about the shirt.

Was this a bad move? LeBron has just started his game with the Los Angeles Lakers, and people already disapprove his departure from Cleveland. Did he really need such controversy in his professional career? Nike fans burned their sneakers after the Kaepernick campaign was out, and maybe NBA fans will give up on the king.
