Watch: Rajon Rondo, Luke Walton Show Off New Handshake

Rajon Rondo may be 32, but he still appreciates a fancy handshake. His character is something many reporters wrote of, and this time everyone was so focused on his handshake with Lakers head coach Luke Walton.

Rajon Rondo is one of the oldest players on the Los Angeles Lakers. He shares the basketball court with players who are 10 or more years younger than him. Being older than most of your teammates may be a problem when you have to greet them. But, Rondo found his handshake-soulmate right there, on the court.

It’s Lakers head coach Walton. Walton is 38, and he understands Rondo. He was part of the Lakers family at the time Rondo was playing for the Boston Celtics. They share similar views on the basketball court, and there’s a great chemistry between the two of them.

If you look closely, the handshake is a perfect example of e veteran fodder. We could see Rondo taking Walton’s hand, shaking it swiftly, and straightening his jacket. He went on wiping imaginary dust off his shoulders. Classy.

Rondo did the same with the next coach, and reporters did not miss the moment. This is a simple yet elegant handshake, and that’s exactly the handshake you expect to see when players meet head coaches. If Rondo stays in the starting lineup, we will get to see more of the gesture in the games that follow.

There has to be a strong chemistry between every coach and point guard. Well, we can freely say that Rondo and Walton are in sync with each other. You can see this every time they see each other on the court.

The Lakers are sailing through the preseason. They have been winning and losing, but this is just the beginning. Players have improved their game significantly, and we cannot wait for their next game.
