Report: Patriots Announce Two Practice Squad Signings

The New England Patriots keep signing and releasing players, and this time they added two players to the practice squad.

The Patriots said ‘goodbye’ to running back Ralph Webb and defensive tackle Vincent Valentine. The team welcomed a new duo, and they are adding a couple of new names to the practice squad.

New England made the Webb and Valentine releases official on Monday, and announced the addition of defensive lineman Frank Herron and linebacker Calvin Munson.

Herron is joining the Patriots for the second time in his career. He signed a contract as an undrafted free agent by the club in the spring. The defensive lineman played with the team this summer, and he was also there in the preseason. The Patriots decided to release him during the final roster cuts. Herron spent some time with the Seahawks practice squad. During his game with the Tigers, Herron totaled 67 tackles with six coming for a loss and two sacks.

Musnon entered the league as an undrafted free agent last year. The San Diego product spent his 2017 campaign with the New York Giants, and made the active roster. The linebacker played in 14 games for the Giants last season and had five starts. His rookie year ended with 35 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. The Giants released him during the final roster cuts. However, he spent some time on the team’s practice squad until joining the Patriots.

Webb and Valentine are high profile players, and the running back was a preseason darling. He played well in the exhibition opener against the Redskins. Webb managed to make a name for himself. He rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns. In the preseason, he totaled 102 yards rushing, and caught five passes for 28 yards and three total touchdowns.
