Watch: Cowherd Rips Patrick Mahomes For Brady Comment

The New England Patriots will play one of their most important games of the season on Sunday. The team will challenge the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, and players are already making bold comments on the Week 6 matchup.

There was almost no trash talk between the Patriots and Chiefs. However, FS1 Colin Cowherd believes that there was this subtle jab between Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady, and he does not like it at all.

The Chiefs quarterback is pretty excited about the Sunday’s matchup. “It is going to be a great opportunity. He is one of the greatest quarterbacks — if not the greatest quarterback — to ever play. I am going against their defense, but as a team we are going to go in and try to compete. They are a good team in the AFC every single year. Just to compete against one of the best teams in the league is going to be an awesome opportunity,” Mahomes said.

Cowherd did not like the part where Mahomes said “one of the greatest.”

“One of the greatest? Eight trips to the Super Bowl, five rings, ‘You know he’s one of the … depends on what you like.’ I don’t know, winning. Super Bowls is kind of what I like. Total disrespect,” Cowherd said.

He went on lamenting those who praise talent over production. “This makes me so angry. Everybody is in love with talent. Ninety-percent of the media in America today, if you ask these knuckleheads, they’d say, ‘Aaron [Rodgers] is better than Tom Brady.’ Why, cause his arm? Russell Westbrook is the fastest NBA player and the most athletic. He’s not as good as James Harden or Kevin Durant. At one point he was the third best player on Oklahoma City forget the league. What does talent mean? ‘Well, Rodgers’ arm and Mahomes’ arm …’ Does coachability matter? Does pre-snap matter? Does worth ethic? Does offseason? Does commitment? I mean, what do you mean one of the best?” he added.
