Josh Hart Reflects On Playing Against LeBron James, Cavs For First Time

LeBron James’ contract with the Los Angeles Lakers was a huge deal this summer, and people still talk about his departure from Cleveland. Many were confused by his decision to leave the Cavs, and others were worried about his chemistry with the young core in Los Angeles. Josh Hart was one of the first Lakers to embrace the king of basketball publicly.

Josh Hart received his Las Vegas Summer League MVP Award. He had the opportunity to talk to LeBron prior to the game he attended, and then made a couple of remarks.

Hart is trying to take the next level of his development for the 2018-19 NBA season. He talked about his first two games against LeBron James, and that was quite an experience.

“It was like holy … the things that he does is just crazy. The way he sees plays even before they happen, his ability to get other guys involved and ability to take over games when he has to … he just has so much more to his game than you think watching him from afar, and to see it firsthand, that is when I was kind of like, ‘Wow, this guy is amazing,’” Hart said. He scored 18 points in a Las Vegas Summer League playoff win July 15, and LeBron was watching the game.

LeBron is one of the greatest basketball players in the game, and Lakers head coach Luke Walton anticipated adjusting the offense to let him handle the basketball ‘a lot.’ In other words, the Lakers are still trying to give LeBron a lot of help to fit in the team.

Hopefully, Hart and the other young players will learn how to play off the ball and increase LeBron’s passing abilities. Hart also practiced on his playmaking this offseason.

The Lakers have high hopes for the season. Let’s see how will things turn out for them.
