LeBron James Says Parenting Helps Him Lead Lakers Teammates

LeBron James is one of the most successful basketball players to ever walk on Earth, and his family is here to support his game. LeBron is an excellent parent, and if you ask him, parenting really helped him lead his Lakers teammates.

LeBron joined the young Lakers core earlier this summer, and many thought that things will not work for him. However, the king of basketball is doing a really good job on the basketball court, thanks to his parenting skills.

King James always talks about the lessons he learned as a parent, and admitted that these lessons helped him go through life and his career. LeBron talked to Tania Ganguli of the L.A. Times that he developed some really great communication skills as a parent, and that actually helped him become the ultimate leader.

“I can’t give you like a definite point in time, but in my 16-year career I’ve learned every year how to be more and more and more of a leader. And more of a communicator and how I can communicate to certain guys and get the best out of certain guys. One thing that you learn when you become a parent is that if you have multiple kids, to get the most out of your kids, you can’t teach them all the same way,” LeBron said.

Some criticized LeBron for these comments, but he made sure everyone understands the distinction and cleared any doubts. He is just a Laker, and being a parent and bringing his experience into the office does not make him superior to other Lakers.

“If we’re serious about what we’re here for and we’re putting in the time, we should all have awe moments. For me, I’m just one of the guys. … I come in, I punch my clock in, I put my hard hat on and I go to work every single day like the rest of them. I just want to lead those guys as much as they would like me to lead,” LeBron said.
