WATCH: LeBron’s Reaction To First Game With The Lakers

LeBron James had his Lakers debut, and it was a night worth remembering. The king of basketball did a really good job in the first game of the regular season. However, his great talent was not enough to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers. The excellent performance had to be coupled with an extra help from his teammates.

NBA fans sort of predicted that the Lakers will lose the first game of the regular season. This was LeBron’s first official debut with the team, and we all know what that means. Fitting in a new team requires a lot of effort, and it is almost impossible to win the very first matchup.

King James had an excellent game. He scored 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists in his 37 minutes on the court. LeBron talked to reporters after the loss to the Trail Blazers, and outlined the things the Lakers have to work on.

“We had some good, we had some bad, which is as expected for game one. I liked our fight to get back into the game when we were down double-digits. the way we competed at times, I like the way we shared the ball at times as well, so those are all positives. It’s going to take patience from our team, from all of us, just to figure out one another, to figure out what we’re good at, to figure out what we’re not so good at and how we can be better at it. It was a good first test for us,” LeBron said.

It was definitely exciting to see LeBron playing in his first regular season game wearing the Lakers uniform. He will stick around for a while, and the Lakers better use his potential. They have a great chance of becoming contenders and even reaching for the NBA Finals.
