Just In: Patriots Rule Out Marcus Cannon For Week 7 Game

The Patriots are ready for the Chicago challenge, but they are now focused on their injured players. The team ruled out Marcus Cannon, and several others were limited in practice.

The Friday’s final injury report lists the names of several injured players. Starting right tackle Marcus Cannon was ruled out. He missed this week’s practice due to the concussion he suffered in the Week 6 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Cannon will probably be replaced with LaAdrian Waddle. This may not be the best plan for the Pats, but Waddle can sure help them deal with Bears star linebacker Khalil Mack.

As a player for the Raiders last year, Mack challenged Waddle in Mexico City, and the Patriots tackle was able to keep him in check allowing two allowing a couple of quarterback hits and a hurry.

Waddle noted that Mack changed teams in the meantime, noting that Sunday’s contest will be a completely different game. “He was definitely a challenging guy to go against. He can rush the passer. He’s a physical player. He’s going to play hard to play hard through the whistle. So we’ve just got to be ready for that,” Waddle said.

Rob Gronkowski’s back injury is giving the Patriots a headache. Gronk had three surgeries on his back, and the latest injury is definitely a reason for concern. The tight end was limited in practice on Friday and is considered questionable for the Week 7 contest.
