Watch: Lakers’ Rajon Rondo Breaks Silence After Brawl With Rockets

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo is making headlines after his brawl with Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul. The NBA confirmed that he spit on Paul during the incident at the Staples Center. The two veterans exchanged punches on the basketball court, and that was one of the worst incidents the league has seen lately.

Rondo is officially suspended for the next three games, and media members had a lot of questions for him. The former Kentucky Wildcats standout did not really regret his actions when asked whether he addressed the Lakers about the fight after the incident.

In the video, Rondo does not provide much info on what triggered the fight itself. The veteran also showed that he is not concerned about his teammates’ reactions to the current situation. Rondo noted that everyone in the locker room know who he is, and that he believes his teammates will still respect him.

“The league made a decision,” Rondo said when asked about the suspensions.

“It’s best for me not to talk about the situation. It is what it is. I look forward to getting back and helping my team this weekend,” the veteran added.

When reporters about the real cause of the fight, Rondo said, “Basketball. The game.”

Lonzo Ball will take the starting point guard spot, and this may be his role for the next period. Well, Lonzo was hoping for this, right? It depends on his performance now.

Brandon Ingram was also suspended, and he apologized to the team. “It was better than we expected. I’m happy it was only four games. I have to control my emotions better,” Ingram added.

The Lakers did not need these suspensions at this point of the regular season, but they cannot take things back. Let’s see how will the team play without Rondo and Ingram.
