The New England Patriots Should Trade For LeGarrette Blount

For most teams, the NFL free agency is a startling finality. Every time a player goes out, he is out for good. But, will LeGarrette Blount be out for too long?

Most teams do not follow his success in case they bring them back if needed. However, the New England Patriots Never forget about their players. They acquired Deion Branch in 2010 after the terrible contract dispute in the team’s history. Brian Hoyer left the Patriots to become a starter. He did not manage to do it, and the Patriots brought him back. The same happened to Martellus Bennet. The team received him back. The Patriots do not close doors, and every time they have an empty spot, they try to fill it with a player they know. Will they trade for LeGarrette Blount?

The team needs a running back at the moment. Rek Burkhead and Jeremy Hill are put on injured reserve, and Sony Michel is hurt. New England played Kenjon Barner against the Chicago Bears, but they can do a lot better than that.
LeGarrette Blount signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014, and was then released. He rejoined the Patriots, and won two Super Bowls together. Is there any possibility that they go for a third?

The Lions are handing to load to Kerryon Johnson at running back post, and have a good reason to do so. The Patriots actually need a slight boost in the back. Matt Patricia has a strong relationship with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick to accommodate for the right price.

Blount will not cost more than a mid-round pick. He will sure come as a nice replacement for Michel. The Patriots will give Michel enough time to recover and get ready for the next game. Are they ready to win the Super Bowl? Absolutely.
