LeBron James Weights In On Cavaliers Firing Tyronn Lue

The Cleveland Cavaliers lost their start player earlier this summer, and now they have fired head coach Tyronn Lue. LeBron James weighed in on the team’s decision.

LeBron played under Lue from 2016 until his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. He took to Twitter to express his gratitude, and thanked Lue for helping the team win a championship.

The Cavaliers fired Lue after the 0-6 start that makes them the only winless team in the Eastern Conference. The former Cavaliers head coach has two full seasons and the rest of this season on his five-year contract worth $35 million.

“This was a very difficult decision. We have respect and great admiration for Ty, not only as a coach, but a person. We thank him for the many ways he has contributed to our success, wish him the best and he will always be remembered for leading a very special Cavs team back against the odds to win the title in 2016,” Cavaliers General Manager Koby Altman said in a statement.

Lue appreciates his time in Cleveland, and is grateful for the players dedication and sacrifice.

“My time here in Cleveland was truly special. I am very grateful for the dedication, sacrifice, and support of all the players on our team, the tremendous coaches I worked with and of course, our incredible fans. Lastly, deep thanks to owner Dan Gilbert, former general manager David Griffin and general manager Koby Altman for the opportunity over the last three years and I only wish the organization success moving forward,” Lue said in his statement.

Drew met with the Cavaliers management on Sunday morning to discuss the terms of his promotion, as confirmed by sources close to the league.

How will this affect the Cavaliers’ game in the regular season? Let’s wait and find out.
