Bill Belichick Welcomes His New Family Member To First Patriots Game

The New England Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick have a new family member.

Fiels Yates of ESPN reported that Belichick welcomed his second granddaughter Jayce DeSantis. The newest family member of the Belichick family was born two weeks ago to his daughter Amanda and her husband AJ. The girl, Jaycee, attended her first Patriots game on Sunday. The head coach was excited about the baby, and his family roster got pretty strong.

I couldn’t be more excited to have a second granddaughter. Our family is truly thrilled,” Belichick said.

Belichick’s daughter Amanda follows his coaching footsteps. She is the head women’s lacrosse coach at Holly Cross. Amanda holds this position for four seasons now.

Jaycee showed up at the right time. She definitely brought luck to the team, and the Patriots beat up the Miami Dolphins. Sony Michel, John Simon and Josh Gordon had a huge role in the game.

Gordon made his Patriots debut in a limited fashion. He caught both his targets for 32 yards. Simon totaled five tackles and a sack. Sony Michel was the biggest producer of the group.

“I thought we got what we needed from our team today. The players, coaches, did a great job this week – the coaching staff. We got a lot of good leadership from our players and they responded today. We got contributions from pretty much everybody, every unit, every phase of the team. It’s what we need and what we needed,” Belichick said during his postgame presser.

“Give them all the credit. We made enough plays to win in all of the areas. Now we’re looking at a short week here. We’ll have to go back and try to do it again, but it’s good to see our team respond the way that they did today. I thought they really played hard, played well. Hopefully we can do it again.”
