Breaking: Seahawks Owner Suddenly Loses Life At 65

The Settle Seahawks and Portland Trail Blazers were hit by a devastating tragedy after losing the patriarch of their organization.

The Seahawks entered their goodbye week after the great win over the Oakland Raiders. The Trail Blazers are starting their new NBA season this week. Both teams were not ready to face the fact that owner Paul Allen passed away. Allen died at 65 from complications caused by Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Two weeks ago, Allen was told that his cancer had reemerged, but remained optimistic about it. He really believed that he could defeat the ugly disease once again.

“Some personal news: Recently, I learned the non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma I battled in 2009 has returned. I’ve begun treatment & my doctors are optimistic that I will see a good result. Appreciate the support I’ve received & count on it as I fight this challenge,” Allen wrote on Twitter in early October.

The former Microsoft founder could not fight the disease. His sister, Jody, released the official statement confirming his death.

“My brother was a remarkable individual on every level. While most knew Paul Allen as a technologist and philanthropist, for us he was a much loved uncle and an exceptional friend. Paul’s family and friends were blessed to experience his wit, warmth and generosity and deep concern. For all the demands on his schedule, there was always time for family and friends. At this time of loss and grief for us — and so many others — we are profoundly grateful for the care and concern he demonstrated every day,” the statement read.

Allen was heavily involved in the Seattle community, and people loved him. Cancer takes so many lives each year, and it is terrible how so many people have to deal with it. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to the family.
