Josh Gordon Opens Up About His Relationship With Tom Brady

Josh Gordon was definitely the best thing the Patriots received recently. Gordon has nine catches for 124 yards and a touchdown in three games. However, things were not really great between Gordon and Brady in the Pats’ 43-40 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

There was some sort of a miscommunication between Tom Brady and Josh Gordon during two back-shoulder throws in the game. Brady was confident in Gordon, and kept going back to the talented receiver, so I guess there were no hard feelings.

“I think that comes with more experience with Tom and knowing certain situations and certain looks. But moving forward, I think we got a good grasp on that right now, and (if the) opportunity presents itself, I think we can take advantage of it this time,” Gordon said.

“Yeah, I think it’s a lot of playing together and I think over a long period of time and I think the longer you play with guys, you just learn body language and they know when to expect it and look. I think those plays — I think timing and accuracy are important on all those ones. So I’ve just got to do a better job giving him opportunities to catch them. I think he’s got great hands. He’s got a great awareness and feel. I’m just so impressed with how he’s come in and learned everything and the role that he’s taken on. So I’ve got to do a better job of putting the ball in his position where he can just go up and make the play,” the quarterback concurred.

Gordon has more good news about his hamstring injury that forced the Cleveland Browns to trade him. “Feels great to open up again, knowing you’re at full strength, full speed. Started to do more, be a part more and show what you can do. It’s been a process, and it’s been trusting the strength staff, the training staff here and the coaches getting me involved and keeping me safe. It’s been a great process so far,” Gordon said.

“I think just the coaches are just trusting me a little bit more day by day. I guess seeing that I’m learning the offense a little bit better, seeing as though I think I’m figuring out what I’m supposed to do a lot better, they felt as though I was good enough for me to be put in the game to know what to do. Grateful for that.”
