LeBron James Donates Huge Amount Of Money To Muhammad Ali Exhibit At Smithsonian

LeBron James is one of a kind. You do not get to see people like him that often. The kid from Akron grew up to be one of the most talented professional athletes, and LeBron is the idol of many young basketball players. One of his greatest virtues is his love and respect for legends like Muhammad Ali.

Muhammad Ali was a professional boxer, activist and philanthropist. He is one of the most significant sports figures of the 20th century, and his name will never fade away. Ali died in 2016, but the memory of him will live forever.

The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC announced their plan to do an exhibit in honor of Muhammad Ali. LeBron James was thrilled about the big news, and decided to donate $2.5 million to support the exhibition.

“Muhammad Ali is such a cornerstone of me as an athlete because of what he represented not only in the ring as a champion but more outside the ring — what he stood for, what he spoke for, his demeanor,” he said.

LeBron and his business partner Maverick Carter planned to make a contribution together. Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and other NBA legends have donated millions to the Smithsonian museum.

“His support will help us to continue the story of Muhammad Ali and will encourage athletes to realize how important athletics is in terms of social justice,” said Lonnie Bunch, the museum’s founding director.

“This exhibit will enable children visiting the Smithsonian to learn more about Muhammad’s work outside of the ring, particularly his humanitarian work and stance on social justice for all people. I know that if Muhammad was alive today he would be honored,” said Lonnie Ali, the late boxer’s wife.

Well, LeBron did a great job here, and he will never let down his fans. That’s the way to roll.
