New England Patriots Reveal Gronkowski’s Status For Week 7 Game

The New England Patriots will take on the Chicago Bears and tight end Rob Gronkowski will be a mere spectator.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter said the tight end will not play on Sunday’s contest as he is still treating his back injury. The team confirmed Schefter’s comments, and ruled Rob Gronkowski out Sunday morning.

Well, it was somehow obvious that Gronk would not play in the Week 7 contest as he was listed in the injury report as a player with back injury. The tight end did not even travel to Chicago with the Patriots on Saturday.

Gronk was first ruled out as questionable, but Schefter’s latest report killed the last hope. So, yes, the Patriots will have to confront the Bears without their star tight end.

This is not the best scenario the Patriots hoped for, but the team has some good news to share, too. Gronk will play in the Week 8 contest with the Buffalo Bills for Monday Night Football.

We still do not have much information regarding Gronk’s back injury. Mike Giardi of the NFL Network spoke to a Patriots source about the tight end and the Week 7 contest. The source did not reveal many details regarding Gronk’s health condition, but said that “he’s a tough kid. All I’ll say is this year hasn’t been easy for him physically.”

Gronkowski was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to his ankle injury. The Patriots revealed his back issues in the final injury report on the week, and ruled him questionable for the matchup.

Gronkowski has a terrible injury history when it comes to his aching back. He had three surgeries so far, and this injury is not a minor ailment. This gives the team a reason for concern.

Jacob Hollister, Geneo Grisson and John Simon were also downgraded.
