Report: Injury Update Emerges On Rob Gronkowski’s Ankle

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski left the game against the Miami Dolphins due to an injury. This injury was the last thing the Patriots needed. Losing Gronk is equal to a disaster, and the Patriots can’t afford that at the moment.

Gronkowski suffered an ankle injury in the third quarter of the game. He hauled in a 9-yard pass from quarterback Tom Brady and everybody saw him limping after the play. The tight end asked to leave the game, and trainers checked him on the sideline. Gronk was taken to the Patriots locker room, and was later listed as questionable to return. He didn’t come back into the contest.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Gronk’s ankle injury isn’t considered serious. This is great news for the Patriots, but Schefter noted that Gronk is still considered questionable for Thursday’s game against the Colts in Foxboro.

“Patriots’ TE Rob Gronkowski’s ankle injury that prevented him from finishing Sunday’s game is not considered serious, per source. Gronkowski is expected to be questionable for Thursday night vs. Colts,” Schefter tweeted.
The Patriots didn’t bring Gronk back into the game as they were trying to avoid any injury.

Reporters couldn’t spot Gronk int he locker room, and he didn’t even hold his usual postgame press conference. However, we did see him in the postgame celebration video released by the Pats. He was moving out well, and it seems like the team has nothing to be afraid of.

The tight end was limited in the past few weeks due to an ankle injury but was productive in both contests.
Gronk’s position is worth monitoring this week for the Patriots as he is dealing with an injury and Jacob Hollister missed the last two games due to a chest injury.

If Gronk and Hollister don’t make the turnaround on Thursday, Dwayne Allen will be the lone tight end on the 53-man roster.
