Report: Kyle Van Noy Makes Major Request Of Patriots Defense

The New England Patriots had problems with their defensive line and pass-rushers since the trade deal of Chandler Jones. However, this did not affect the team’s sacks. Last season, New England lost Rob Ninkovich, Derek Rivers and Kony Ealy right before the beginning of the season, but the team still managed to tie for seventh in the league with 42 sacks. Trey Flowers led the team with only 6.5 sacks. Kyle Van Noy talked about the Patriots and the pressure issue.

This season’s group is supposed to be better than any other group in the post-Jones era. Flowers is still in place with Deatrich Wise. Rivers recovered from injury and joined free agent acquisition Adrian Clayborn and Dont’a Hightower who missed the last season to injury. New England has seven sacks in five games, which set the team at 30th in the league. This puts them on a pace for only 22 in the season. players are fed up, and Kyle Van Noy refused to accept the fact that the Patriots do not generate enough pressure.

“I feel like I have a lot of pressures this year, and I’m trying to convert those into sacks. I think that’s kind of been the theme here. We’ve gotten a lot of pressures, and that goes unnoticed by people. They think, ‘Oh, since there’s no sacks, there’s no pass rush.’ But I feel like as a team, we’re getting pressure. I think we just need to convert those with a little more effort and a little faster timing get more sacks,” Van Noy said.

The truth is much different than the one Van Noy talks about. The Patriots are not generating that much pressure, and they did not generate it last year either. Last season, the team was ranked 28th in the league in terms of pressure rate.
