Report: Luke Walton Makes Bold Statement On Coaching LeBron James For First Time

You may not be used to see LeBron James wearing a Lakers uniform, but he really looked right at home on the basketball court. LeBron had his preseason debut in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 124-107 loss to the Denver Nuggets, and played something over 15 minutes. The king of basketball finished with nine points, three rebounds and three assists. LeBron shot 2-of-6 from the field and was an excellent 2-for-2 from behind the arc. He was also able to shoot 2-of-4 from the free throw line. Head coach Luke Walton was happy with James’ game.

It was awesome. When you’re coaching the Lakers and look out and see LeBron wearing your team’s colors, it’s a pretty good feeling,” Walton said.

If you ask LeBron, he will tell you he was glad to be on the court with his new teammates in a real game.

“It was great to get back on the floor and then start a new journey for myself. Hear our Lakers fans that we have in San Diego. It was a great feeling to go out there and hear the roar of the fans here,” King James said.

He also said that the Lakers uniform made him feel different.

“It always feels different for me anytime you change uniforms. It felt different when I changed from a St. Vincent-St. Mary jersey to a Cavs jersey, from a Cavs jersey to a Heat jersey, back to a Cavs jersey and now being a Laker. So, it definitely feels different, and it’ll take a little bit of time getting used to,” LeBron said.

The NBA star got the chance to show everyone that he plays well with both young Lakers and veterans. This is just a warm-up, and his best is yet to come. Experts predict that King James will take the Lakers to the NBA Finals.
