Report: Patriots RT Leaves Game Vs. Chiefs With Head Injury

The starting right tackle was not out there on offense with the Patriots to start the fourth quarter of their Sunday Night Football matchup with the Chiefs. The team then announced that Cannon suffered a head injury and his return in questionable for the rest of the game. In his place, LaAdrian Waddle has slotted in at right tackle for the Patriots.

Marcus Cannon’s string of bad luck with injuries continued Sunday night at Gillette Stadium. The New England Patriots right tackle left the game against the Chiefs during the fourth quarter after going helmet to helmet with Kansas City’s Allen Bailey.

Upon the news coming out of Cannon’s injury, NBC cameras showed the final play that the veteran was on the field for and Cannon did have helmet-to-helmet contact with Chiefs pass rusher Allen Bailey.

Along with this latest head injury, Cannon does have a laundry list of injuries that he’s faced within just the calendar year. Last season he suffered a concussion along with an ankle injury that ended his 2017 campaign early. This year, Cannon also missed all of the preseason and also missed Week 2 against the Jaguars because of it as well.

You can check out the play when Cannon and Bailey collided below:

The Patriots entered the fourth quarter with a slim lead over the Chiefs, but were rushing the ball pretty well as Sony Michel has over 100-yards on the ground in this game to go along with two rushing score. Tom Brady has also had a pretty clean pocket for the night, despite being sacked twice.

The offensive tackle missed six games during the 2017 NFL season with an ankle injury before he was placed on injured reserve. Cannon also injured himself during the team’s second day of training camp this summer. Cannon was replaced by LaAdrian Waddle.
