Tom Brady Lauds Major Statement On Josh Gordon’s Play, Sees Potential In New Patriot

The New England Patriots didn’t talk too much about the trade of Josh Gordon until he inked a deal. The team challenged the Miami Dolphins in Week 4, and Gordon had his debut with the team. Quarterback Tom Brady expressed his feelings about Gordon’s play.

Brady tempered the expectations for Gordon before Sunday’s game. But, after Gordon’s play on the field, Brady raised his expectations.

The quarterback praised Gordon on Monday morning, and acknowledged his comfort in the offense line. “He’s been really working hard and trying to get things right. I don’t feel like I had to worry about where he was lining up or what he was running. He was super confident. I could tell in his eyes he knew what he was doing. He’s just been great since he’s came in. So, hopefully we can keep it going and build on it,” Brady said during his appearance on WEEI’s Kirk & Callahan.

Gordon was able to catch two passes on two targets for 29 yards in his first game action since his Week 1 game with the Cleveland Browns. If you ask Brady, he will say that the former All-Pro can have a significant role in the offense.

“Still a lot of things to learn and improve on, and when we really get to know each other, hopefully all the hard work really pays off and we become really a great offense. Josh really did a great job (Sunday), along with a lot of other guys,” the quarterback said.

Brady also noted that the chemistry with pass catchers is of utmost importance. He emphasized his relationship with Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski as an example for Gordon.

“We get along well. He sits right next to me, so it’s just a nice rapport to have that. Now that he’s our teammate, we’ve got to get to know each other, because you can build that trust and chemistry in different ways. You see it with guys I played with for a long time. It builds and builds and builds. And what happens is, you just — you’re able to make a lot of good plays, and you basically eliminate all the bad plays,” Brady added.

Good luck, Gordon!
