Ty Lue Broke His Silence After Being Fired By Cavaliers

The firing of Ty Lue shocked the world of basketball. The Cleveland Cavaliers are at 0-6 in the regular season, and they are the only winless team in the league. LeBron’s former team came off a 119-107 defeat, and the Indiana Pacers played really well in the last contest. The Cavaliers were outscored 31-24 in the fourth quarter of the game.

This game was not the only reason the Cavaliers had to eliminate their head coach. Ty Lue was removed from his position. Lead assistant Larry Drew took over on an interim basis.

Lue came off a season in which he brought the Cleveland Cavaliers to their fourth trip to the NBA Finals. The Golden State Warriors came away with the NBA title for the third time in four years. They defeated the Cavaliers and LeBron James.

The former head coach released a statement after the news of his firing. Lue expressed his gratitude for the opportunity he was given in the team.

“My time here in Cleveland was truly special. I am very grateful for the dedication, sacrifice and support of all the players on our team, the tremendous coaches I worked with and of course, our incredible fans. Lastly, deep thanks to Dan Gilbert, David Griffin and Koby Altman for the opportunity over the last three years and I only wish this organization success moving forward,” Lue said in his statement.

The Cavaliers lost LeBron James and Ty Lue within a few months, but they are grateful for everything they did. LeBron shared his gratitude for everything Lue has helped him accomplish during his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs offered Kevin Love a four-year contract extension.

Lue’s firing was not something we saw coming, but the Cavaliers struggled a lot this season. The team is the 24th in the league in scoring with 105.7 points per contest.
