WATCH: Tom Brady Retakes Lead With TD Run

Tom Brady is not what most observers would call mobile. In fact, he is arguably the slowest quarterback in the NFL. But he is willing to do whatever it takes to get the New England Patriots a win. If that means scrambling away from the rush to score a patented old man touchdown, that is what he’ll do. And that is what he did against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, as his touchdown run put the Patriots on top 37-33 with just over five minutes to play.

Brady actually does score rushing touchdowns fairly often. They just don’t look like this. Brady is perhaps the greatest player in NFL history when it comes to QB sneaks. His prowess on runs of one-yard or less is absolutely legendary. But this run of four yards was a special occasion. The Patriots are trying to secure a critical tiebreaker over the undefeated Chiefs. Brady is certainly doing his part.

He has 239 yards through the air so far in this game along with a passing touchdown that went to Julian Edelman. But if the Patriots do manage to pull this win off, it will be remembered for Brady’s touchdown run. This has been a classic shootout between the NFL’s present in Brady and its future in Patrick Mahomes. It is only appropriate that such a game would be decided not by their arms, but by the legs of a 41-year-old.
